Find a Book/Video/DVD/CD
1. Search the Online Catalog.
2. From the item record, note the location, call number and the status of the item you are looking for.
3. Refer to the chart below for understanding the status of an item.

| Status | What does this mean? |
| Checked In | The item is currently on the shelf |
| Checked Out | The item is currently checked out. The due date is shown next to it on the right. |
| On Hold | Someone has already requested this item |
| In Transit | The item is on its way to go to the patron who placed a hold on it earlier. |
| In Process | The item is being processed and is not yet on the shelf. |
| On Order | The item is on order, but has not yet arrived in the libraries. |
· Note that there are two types of call numbers (one starts with an alphabet and then numbers, and the other has only numbers) in the catalog. If you need help ask a librarian.
· Note the location and call number for the item and go to the shelf to find the item on the shelf.
· If you are searching from home, click on "Request First Available Copy of this item" to have it sent to a library closer to you.
· If the item is checked out, on hold, in process or on order, click on "Request First Available Copy of this item". You will be notified when the item arrives.
· If the item is missing ask at the reference desk for available options.
