Secret Pal Gift Exchange
What is a Secret Pal Gift Exchange?
PSSA members who want to participate will be given the name of another PSSA member in August to secretly pamper over fall semester. Use your creativity to come up with fun ways to surprise, bless and treat your Secret Pal. We will have the unveiling at our Christmas party in December. Cecelia Cameron is the gift exchange administrator.
- The gift exchange administrator will send out an email invitation to all PSSA members inviting them to participate in a Secret Pal gift exchange.
- All participants' names will be placed into a virtual "hat" by means of the SecretSanta.com service. The gift exchange administrator will enter the names and email addresses of those PSSA members who wish to participate and the system will randomize all of the names and select each participant's gift recipient for him/her.
- The gift exchange administrator will create a customized Secret Santa (Pal for our group) Gift Exchange page, which will enable PSSA participants to post RSVP responses and comments, as well as wish lists.
- The gift exchange administrator can create exclusions for the gift exchange to ensure that certain participants are not matched. (For example, Carol Hatfield should not be Dan Hatfield's Secret Pal.)
- The gift exchange administrator can manage the gift exchange year after year, guaranteeing that participants do not get the same Secret Pal two (or more) years in a row.
All PSSA members will receive an email invitation from the gift exchange administrator.
- As a participant in the Secret Pal gift exchange event you will receive two email notifications: one inviting you to participate in the gift exchange event and one to let you know who your gift recipient is.
- The invitation notification email lets you know you have been invited to join in a gift exchange event. It will also include a brief message from the gift exchange administrator.
- To view more detail about the gift exchange event and to reply to the invitation you click on the Go to the Gift Exchange button at the bottom of the email. This will take you to the Gift Exchange Event page.
Gift Exchange Event Page:
- All the event information (type of gift exchange, time, date, location, price range, etc.) is listed on this page.
- The RSVP Status area lets you view who is participating, who is not and who is undecided.
- There is an area on the Gift Exchange Page for you to enter your gift wish list, which can be viewed by your Secret Pal.
The gift recipient email notification lets you know whom you will be buying gifts for over fall semester.
Also included in the email is a link to the Gift Exchange Event page (Just click the Go to the Gift Exchange button at the bottom of the email).
