PASS
Providing Academic Support for Students
The PASS program is open to any Lone Star College-Tomball or Lone Star College-Willow Chase student who has received an academic warning, and is required for any student on academic probation or suspension. Students who are on academic probation or suspension must complete the on-line PASS seminar prior to registration.
PASS Seminar
The on-line PASS seminar will provide students with information on setting academic goals, levels of academic standing, college resources and strategies for academic success. Immediately after students complete the on-line PASS seminar they will be required to complete the PASS quiz, which follows it.
PASS Quiz
The on-line PASS quiz is designed to test a student’s knowledge of levels of academic standing and strategies for academic success. Students will have an opportunity to review their results with a counselor. After students complete the PASS seminar and on-line PASS quiz, they
must call and set an appointment to meet with a counselor before they will be permitted to register.
Meeting with a Counselor
After students have completed the on-line PASS seminar and the on-line PASS quiz, they should contact the Student Life Office to schedule an appointment to meet with a counselor at either the Lone Star College-Tomball or Lone Star College-Willow Chase campuses. The meeting will help the student evaluate possible barriers that may have prevented academic success in the past. Students will be introduced to a variety of intervention programs available to help them improve their academic performance, and will be required to select the program they believe will help get them back into good academic standing. After selecting an intervention program, the student is required to sign a PASS Contract.
PASS Contract
A PASS contract is the student’s agreement that he/she will participate in the intervention(s) selected for the upcoming semester...
Register for Classes
PASS students will be permitted to register for classes after they have completed the on-line PASS seminar, completed the PASS quiz, met with a counselor, and signed a PASS Contract for the upcoming semester.
Full terms of PASS Contract
If the student fails to fulfill the terms of the PASS contract and does not show academic progress at the end of the semester (2.0 sem. gpa), s/he will face an enforced suspension for the following Fall or Spring semester
