Students who are interested in earning Honors credit can register for a linked Honors Course. A linked Honors Course is a small section of Honors students enrolled in the regular section of that course. In addition to the traditional coursework, the Honors students will participate in specialized coursework in the form of an Honors Project. All Honors students must complete an Honors Project with an in class presentation of that project at the end of the semester to receive Honors credit. A copy of the Honors project is submitted to the Honors Director at the end of the semester. A student can take a linked Honors Course and earn Honors credit without concurrent membership in the Honors Program.
In order to earn Honors credit for your linked Honors Course three steps are necessary:
1) Register for the linked Honors Course when registration opens. Most linked Honors Courses are identified by the section number 31060, 3W060, 32060.
2) Obtain the linked Honors Course Form from your instructor soon after the class begins. Complete the form and turn it in to the Honors Program Director no later than the 5th week of class.
3) At the end of the semester submit a copy of your Honors Project to the Honors Program Director. If the Honors Program Director grants you Honors credit for the course, then the course number will be identified as carrying Honors credit on your transcript.
