Grants

All grant awards are based on financial need and enrollment level.

Most grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. To have priority consideration for these awards, you must have your application file completed prior to April 1 for the following fall and spring enrollment periods.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form must be filed with the federal processing center to begin the process. For state grant specifics: www.collegefortexans.com.

A federal grant designed to help you obtain your first undergraduate degree. Most grants at Lone Star College System will range from $400 to $4,050 per year. PELL grants are not awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

A federal grant designed to help America retain its most academically able undergraduates. Eligible students receive a one-time freshman award of $750.00 and a one-time sophomore award of $1300.00. Please provide the Financial Aid Office with an official copy of your high school transcript for consideration.

A federal grant for needy students. Awards determined by Director of Financial Aid.

A grant fund made available from tuition revenues to assist Lone Star College System students. Awards generally range from $100 to $2,000 per year.

A state grant for needy students seeking degrees from public two-year colleges. Award equals $735 per semester. Maximum $1470 per year.

A state grant for well-prepared high school graduates with financial need. Please provide the Financial Aid office with an official high school transcript for consideration. Awards equal $865 per semester. Maximum $1730 per year.

A state grant to provide assistance to financially needy students. Award amounts are determined by the Director of Financial Aid.
